About Red Ribbon Club
The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) at Government Arts and Science College for Women, Sathankulam, is a youth-led initiative established under the aegis of the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS). The club aims to create awareness about HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and promote healthy lifestyle practices among college students and the wider community.
The red ribbon is an international symbol of HIV/AIDS awareness and support for those living with HIV. Our RRC unit works tirelessly to combat stigma, discrimination, and misinformation while promoting prevention, care, and support for affected individuals.
Objectives of RRC
The primary objectives of the Red Ribbon Club are:
- Create awareness about HIV/AIDS transmission, prevention, and treatment
- Combat stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS
- Promote safe and responsible behavior among youth
- Educate about sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and their prevention
