Dr. M.SUSEELABAI M.A, M.Phil., Ph.D.,
Principal (FAC)

Dr. M. Suseelabai is an accomplished academician and economist with over two decades of dedicated service in higher education and institutional leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Arul Anandar College, Madurai, completed in 2014, complementing an exceptional academic foundation that includes an M.Phil. in Economics from Madurai Kamaraj University. Notably, her early academic excellence was marked by securing the University First Rank during her B.A. studies at Sivanthi Adithanar College and the University Third Rank during her M.A. program at S.T. Hindu College, both under Madurai Kamaraj University.

Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. M. Suseelabai has held pivotal teaching and administrative roles across several esteemed government institutions in Tamil Nadu. Her extensive tenure includes serving at Arignar Anna Government Arts College for Women (Walajapet), Government Arts College for Women (Sivagangai), and a significant long-term appointment at Sri Meenakshi Government Arts College for Women (Madurai). She continues to contribute her profound expertise and leadership to the academic community at the Government Arts and Science College, Nagercoil, where she has been serving from August 2018. Her extensive leadership portfolio includes serving as a Principal (FAC) in Government Arts and Science College, Nagercoil from June, 2019 to September, 2026. With her dedicated service to the students community, now promoted as Principal in Government Arts and Science College for Women, Sathankulam from 2nd September, 2026.

In addition, Dr. M. Suseelabai has undertaken various administrative responsibilities at the district level in Kanniyakumari District. She served as the District Level Nodal Officer for the Data SIM Card initiative during 2020–2021 and as the District Investigator for the Drug-Free Tamil Nadu programme, conducting a survey on the prevalence of drugs and banned tobacco products in and around educational institutions during 2025–2026. She also served as the District Level Nodal Officer for the Debit Card Scheme and the Free Laptop Scheme during 2025–2026. Further, she served as a District Level Award Committee Member for the Green Champion Award during 2024–2025 and as a Member of the Disaster Management Plan under the District Collector’s Office, Nagercoil, Kanniyakumari District.

Besides to these administrative responsibilities, Dr. M. Suseelabai has served as a Subject Expert in Economics for Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) assessments at various higher educational institutions. I served as a Subject Expert at Scott College, Nagercoil, on 20.04.2023; Vivekananda College, Agasteeswaram, on 20.12.2023; Rani Anna Government College for Women, Tirunelveli, on 28.12.2023, 24.01.2025, and 28.02.2025; Nesamony Memorial Christian College, Marthandam, on 23.02.2024; Women Christian College, Nagercoil, on 16.04.2024; and Sarah Tucker College, Tirunelveli, on 02.05.2025.

My heart fills with pride and pleasure as I perceive the progress being made at Government Arts and Science College for Women, Sathankulam. The seeds of an idea sown in 2003 by the Sathankulam Educational Society, has taken firm root and the college is growing into a strong sapling. The purpose of our lives is to give birth the best which is within us. I extend my warm wishes to the Staff and Students of Government Arts and Science College for Women, Sathankulam, to continue this journey on the road to excellence. May the sapling grow into a sturdy tree and spread its branches!
